Imelda Murphy

Imelda Murphy is the talented Smeg Chef at our Melbourne office, bringing years of culinary expertise and a passion for demonstrating Smeg’s high-quality appliances. Originally from Waterford, Ireland, Imelda completed her City and Guilds qualifications and completed her apprenticeship at a major hotel in Waterford City. Upon moving to Australia, she began her journey at the Celtic Club, where she gained experience in the local hospitality scene.

Imelda joined Smeg in 2005 as a Chef Demonstrator, where she became involved in a variety of key events such as trade nights, food and wine festivals at the Langham in Southbank, and demonstrating cooking appliances for multiple brands at the Exhibition Buildings in Carlton. She also assisted both local and overseas chefs during these events.

Today, Imelda’s role involves demonstrating the full range of Smeg appliances to clients during architect lunches, training days, and pre- and post-purchase classes at our Collingwood showroom. She also shares new recipes and culinary tips with clients, helping inspire their cooking journeys. In addition to her regular duties, Imelda plays a key role in hosting several large functions throughout the year, including gala-themed events, further showcasing her culinary expertise and the elegance of Smeg products.
